At Pointer, we run a completely distributed team across a number of Australian states. We are fiercely proud of the ability our business has to employ talented professionals and offer flexibility that comes with remote work. The physical location of our team does not affect the quality or level of work they can perform, and the ‘office’ banter is second to none! Once a month, we’d like to introduce you to one of our team members, so you can get to know us!

Meet Kate! Kate lives in north-west Tasmania with her husband and three kids. Kate is originally from country NSW and has a background in international business. She spent years living and working in Switzerland and is now living a slightly slower paced life in Tassie! Kate brings an enormous wealth of business development experience to Pointer and will be the driving force behind many connections with Pointer employers.
Quickfire questions!
1. Where do you rest your head at night?
In Circular Head, North West Tasmania. Empty beaches and fantastic fresh food.
2. What’s your work and play background?
My work background is in international business and a highlight was working in Europe in a highly specialised scientific field with global reach and impact. I love to travel, a favourite play moment being mountain biking in Bolivia.
3. What’s the best thing about working remotely? Especially for Pointer (apart from what an awesome boss Jo is?!)
I am in the North West of North West Tassie and that’s pretty remote! Working remotely gives me diversity and flexibility which helps me balance family life. I like Pointer's Australian regional focus and it’s the only platform I know of that works like this. (And actually makes it fun)
4. One hot tip for people working remotely?
Stay open-minded at the beginning, always add value for your employer and turn it into whatever you want to make it. It’s awesome.
